Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the NHL match.
In this matchup, the result might not be the main focus. What's truly significant is the emotional return of Steven Stamkos, making his first appearance as a visitor at Amalie Arena after spending 16 years with the Tampa Bay Lightning. It promises to be an emotional night, at least for the former captain of the Lightning.
Tampa Bay Lightning
The Lightning started the season on a high with three wins but have since slowed down, finishing the last five games with a losing record (2-3). There are still positives to take away: just two days ago, they secured their first shutout victory. Andrei Vasilevskiy was the key player in the win against the Washington Capitals, making an impressive 32 saves. However, his save percentage has recently dipped to around 82%. During the game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, he was replaced after conceding four goals from 14 shots. Without their goaltender, they've conceded eight goals (against the New Jersey Devils).
Nashville Predators
The Predators found themselves at the bottom of the league after five games. Was it a lack of chemistry? That seems unlikely. They incorporated Steven Stamkos, Jonathan Marchessault, and Shea Weber, who are experienced players expected to gel quickly. A few additions shouldn't disrupt the team's overall dynamics. The problem lay in their attack. In the first five losses, they conceded an average of three to four goals while scoring only two. Now, having found their stride, they're winning games and scoring three to four goals themselves.
Tampa Bay Lightning vs Nashville Predators Prediction
The question of who will win remains unclear, as both teams are in good form. However, we expect plenty of goals to be scored. The total over 5.5 has been reached in the Tampa Bay Lightning's last six games and in seven of the Nashville Predators'. They are likely to put on another goal-fest this time around.
