Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the ATP tennis match
Thanasi Kokkinakis
It’s almost the end of the tennis season, but Thanasi Kokkinakis still has a negative balance (9 wins, 12 defeats). His best result was reaching the quarterfinals at a small tournament in Los Cabos. He only made it through qualifying to the main draw once, in Delray Beach. But the players there were not highly ranked, Kokkinakis beat the opponents who were outside the top 100.
Roberto Bautista Agut
Even though Roberto Bautista Agut doesn’t play as well as he used to, he still has a positive balance on hard courts. Roberto Bautista Agut is not as fast as before, but because of his experience and understanding of the game, he can beat straightforward players like Kokkinakis. In matches with players over 6’4” who are not in the top 50, he has won 12 out of the last 13 times.
Kokkinakis - Bautista Agut Prediction
I don’t think Thanasi Kokkinakis, who withdrew from the Washington tournament last week due to a knee injury, should be a favourite to win. Roberto Bautista Agut is more likely to win.
