Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Serie A match.
The emotional high from Inter Milan’s Champions League semi-final triumph over Barcelona (4:3 after extra time) is sure to provide a significant boost to the Milan team as they prepare for their trip to Torino. With rotation expected from Simone Inzaghi — as has been the trend throughout the campaign — their depth will once again be tested. Fortunately, their second string has proven reliable when called upon.
Torino
Torino’s form has tailed off significantly in the run-in. Since the March international break, they have managed just one win in six matches. Last weekend’s 1:1 draw with Venezia saw them slip out of the top ten, and their attacking record remains underwhelming — only 39 goals all season, ranking 12th in Serie A. At home, Torino have created just 17.05 xG across 17 matches — only Monza (15.61) and Empoli (12.61) have fared worse creatively.
Inter Milan
Inter Milan have stumbled at times, with narrow 1:0 defeats to AS Roma and Bologna costing them top spot. But the title race remains open — Napoli could still drop points in the final rounds. Even with a rotated line-up, Inter Milan got the job done at San Siro against Hellas Verona (1:0), dominating with 1.35 xG to 0.30. Their away record is strong too: 35 goals scored in 17 outings, bettered only by Atalanta (39).
Torino vs Inter Milan Prediction
In the reverse fixture, Inter Milan edged a thrilling 3:2 win — their fifth consecutive victory over Torino and tenth in the last eleven head-to-heads. With greater motivation, superior squad depth, and title ambitions still alive, the Milan side should have too much for a Torino side fading toward the finish line.
