Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the English Premier League match.
Tottenham vs Aston Villa preview
Tottenham are currently fourth, two points behind the leader Manchester City and one point ahead of their opponents. The first two teams have a head-to-head game, which means that someone who wins in our game can get higher in the standings.
This season seems to be quite successful for Tottenham so far. However, their last games before the international break makes me think that problems are starting to emerge. The Spurs lost two consecutive games. They were beaten by Chelsea (1:4) and didn’t manage to win the game versus Wolverhampton, leading throughout almost the whole game and conceding twice at the very end (1:2).
Aston Villa have been more lucky recently, despite losing the game against Nottingham Forest (0:2). However, their opponents in several last rounds weren’t too strong. They beat West Ham United (4:1), Luton Town (3:1) and Fulham (3:1).
Tottenham — Aston Villa head-to-head
Aston Villa won both games of the previous Premier League season. They scored twice in their away game in London, without conceding a goal. The home match in Birmingham ended 2:1 to Aston Villa. However, the season before Tottenham were stronger on both occasions. Earlier in the history, Tottenham were more successful, but probably the results we could see even a couple of years ago don't really matter now.

Tottenham vs Aston Villa prediction
The international break could be a breath of fresh air for the home side. However, we can’t forget the results of their last two games. This match versus Aston Villa is very important for Tottenham. The away side will try to keep their pretty successful results alive, but facing the Spurs is way too different from the games against Luton Town or Fulham. I’m not sure that Tottenham will win this match, but I believe that they won’t lose. And I don’t thing that the defensive lines of both sides will be strong enough.
