Turkey
Turkey finished 1st in their qualifying group with Croatia, Wales and Armenia. They’re favourites of the upcoming game, although Turkey haven’t won their last 5 matches. The recent friendlies have presented a new style Turkey have. They’ve played defensively against Italy (0:0) and Poland (1:2).
Georgia
Georgia qualified for Euro 2024 only via the play-offs. Georgia had obvious problems in the qualifying group versus Spain and Scotland. Mikautadze joined Kvaratskhelia in the second part of the season. However, he can barely manage to deal with big games, missing a penalty versus Greece and relegating with Metz to Ligue 2. Georgia have had chances to play offensively versus Montenegro (3:1). It’s not going to be like that during Euro.
Turkey – Georgia prediction
Unlike Turkey, Georgia is a debutant of the tournament. Turkey should use their chance to beat an inexperienced opponent. Turkey are unlikely to reach the semi-finals as they did 16 years ago. The main goal for now is to avoid failing the group stage as it was 3 years ago. This game will be careful.
