Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Women's Champions League match.
In the current group stage of the Women's European Cup, Twente and Celtic have unsurprisingly fallen behind Chelsea and Real Madrid, who established their lead two months ago. However, in their direct encounter in Glasgow, the Dutch side outperformed the Scottish team with a sharper offensive presence.
Twente (women)
Unlike Celtic, Twente have been on the offensive even against the group's frontrunners, leading to numerous dangerous moments at their own goal. On the flip side, the Dutch side managed to score six goals in five matches and nearly secured a draw at home against Real Madrid (2:3). In their domestic league, they trail the leaders by just two points, with their top scorer Jaimy Ravensbergen netting five goals in five matches since 20 November.
Celtic (women)
The fierce competition in the Champions League has impacted Celtic's mental state, contributing to mistakes in their domestic campaign. Over the last five matches, the Glasgow team have stumbled four times, conceding a total of 11 goals. Last week, they hardly put up a fight at home against Real Madrid (0:3), allowing 16 shots on their goal.
Twente (women) vs Celtic (women) Prediction
In the first group stage match of the Champions League, Twente's victory over Celtic was secured by Kayleigh van Dooren, who scored a double (2:0). We believe that the better-prepared Dutch side will clinch victory once again.
