Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Liga ACB match.
Real Madrid have retained home-court advantage and are now just one win away from clinching the title, leading the series 2:0. However, the action shifts to the Pabellón Fuente de San Luis, where Valencia Basket and their fans will do everything they can to postpone Real Madrid’s title celebrations.
Valencia Basket
Although Valencia Basket appeared nervous in the opening game, they came painfully close to equalising the series in Game 2. The team managed to force overtime before narrowly falling (96:102). A positive takeaway was the return to form of Jean Montero, who had posted just three and four points in the previous outings. He is the driving force behind the team, and when he plays well, Valencia Basket’s chances of victory increase significantly.
Real Madrid
Game 2 was a statement performance from Real Madrid. Not only did they convert 50% of their field-goal attempts, but they also received valuable contributions from unexpected players. Alberto Abalde scored 10 points, surpassing his playoff average of 7.5. Andrés Feliz chipped in with 14 points, well above his 9.8 playoff average. Even Bruno Fernando reached double figures with 10 points. Can these players replicate such output? That remains questionable.
Valencia Basket vs Real Madrid Prediction
We are confident this final will not end in a three-game sweep. Valencia Basket have what it takes to defeat the visitors. On the other hand, Real Madrid have enjoyed a fair share of favourable breaks, and it’s unlikely that such fortune will hold over the entire series. We’re backing the home team.
