Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the La Liga match.
Valencia are desperately trying to claw their way out of the relegation zone as they sit at the very bottom with a minimal points tally. A match at the Mestalla provides the opportunity to break their streak of poor results. Their opponents, Real Betis, have been unbeaten since October 6.
Valencia
Under the guidance of Rubén Baraja, Valencia are facing significant challenges. On the bright side, they perform better at home compared to their away games. Overall, their attacking metrics are not impressive: Valencia have scored only eight goals, with six of those at home. Their stats were further dampened by a goalless draw with Osasuna (0:0).
Real Betis
In contrast, the visitors have been displaying consistent form. Real Betis have suffered just one defeat in their last seven matches. Furthermore, they have found the net in 9 out of their last 10 games. However, they tend to be more cautious on the road, with the total over 2.5 goals being achieved only once in six away fixtures. In head-to-head encounters, Real Betis hold the upper hand, having avoided defeat in eight out of the last nine meetings. Notably, more than three goals have only been scored in two of those clashes.
Valencia vs Real Betis Prediction
Valencia will start aggressively at home, but their poor finishing and unreliable defence give a clear advantage to Real Betis. The visitors are used to playing it safe. While their matches are typically not high-scoring, they do deliver results.
