Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the La Liga match.
Following a high-profile victory over Real Madrid, Valencia are aiming to extend their winning run. The team has shown strong home form, picking up 12 points from their last five matches at Mestalla. In contrast, Sevilla are experiencing a troubled spell. They appear out of contention for European qualification, sitting 12 points adrift of the top six.
Valencia
Valencia have found form at a crucial stage and remain unbeaten in their last five fixtures. Their recent 2:1 triumph over Real Madrid was a standout result. At home, the team has been particularly solid, winning five of their last six matches and conceding only twice—excluding a 0:3 defeat to Atlético Madrid. Goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili has stood out, recording three clean sheets since mid-January, matching his total from the rest of the campaign. In attack, things are also looking promising: Hugo Duro has already netted eight goals this season, while midfielder Diego Lopez has scored in four of the last five matches.
Sevilla
Sevilla, by contrast, have lost three matches in a row, all against direct competitors for European places—Atlético Madrid, Real Betis, and a second meeting with Atlético Madrid. They are lacking attacking threat due to the absence of key players. Although Dodi Lukébakio has scored 11 goals this season, he hasn’t found the net since early March. Defensively, Sevilla have conceded in five of their last six outings and are allowing an average of 12 shots on target per game.
Valencia vs Sevilla Prediction
Valencia have built positive momentum and remain convincing at home, while Sevilla’s current form indicates they are unlikely to offer serious resistance. The reverse fixture ended in a 1:1 stalemate, so a combo bet looks a safer option. Notably, the visitors have scored in seven of their last eight games, but have managed just two wins during that run.
