Adam Williams presents his prediction for the Newmarket Virgin Bet Sun Chariot Stakes (Group 1, 1m, 3yo+) horse racing event.
Tamfana delivered an impressive victory in her last outing at the Atalanta Stakes (Group 3) over a mile. Earlier, she showcased her abilities in France, finishing fourth in the Grand Prix de Paris against the colts. She also claimed third in the French Oaks and secured fourth in the British Guineas.
Inspiral, representing the Gosden duo, has had a somewhat similar trajectory. The five-year-old mare clinched this title last year but has yet to taste victory in her three starts this season. In her latest appearance at the Prix du Haras de Fresnay-le-Buffard Jacques le Marois (Group 1) over 8f, she was the sole mare and finished third. To us, she seems the stronger candidate for a win.
Another contender from the Gosden stable, Nashwa, has only raced once this season, landing in ninth place at the Dubai Turf in Meydan. A six-month break might have rejuvenated her, yet she remains an unknown quantity.
Elmalka, who captured the first classic of the season, was subsequently defeated in the Coronation Stakes and Nassau Stakes. She has shown her potential, but it's challenging to predict her performance come Saturday.
