Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the NHL match.
One of the biggest disappointments of the new season, the Nashville Predators, travel to Washington to face the Capitals. The hosts had their three-game winning streak halted over the weekend, losing to the Carolina Hurricanes (2:4).
Washington Capitals
In Washington, there is no clear-cut starting goaltender, so the coaching staff rotates between goalies from game to game. Last time, Charlie Lindgren started, which means it's Logan Thompson's turn. The former Golden Knights goalkeeper is unbeaten this season, having won all five of his starts, with his latest performance against the Columbus Blue Jackets (7:2) seeing him save 34 out of 36 shots.
Nashville Predators
The crisis in the Predators has noticeably dragged on, leading to increasing frustration among the players. This is evident both in the emotional interviews of centre Ryan O'Reilly and the quality of play on the ice. The Predators have lost three of their last four games, with the most recent loss to the Los Angeles Kings (0:3) arguably being their most dismal and shameful since the start of the season. The team from Tennessee managed just 16 shots on goal, with only three coming in the third period when one would expect them to ramp up the tempo.
Washington Capitals vs Nashville Predators Prediction
While the Nashville Predators regularly outshot their opponents in October, recent games have seen them lose their drive. This presents a good opportunity for the Washington Capitals, who seem to be clicking. We're backing the Capitals to win.
