Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Irish Premier Division match.
Bohemian remain the only side in the top five to have played exactly 19 matches—no more, no fewer—and currently sit second in the standings. With their form and consistency, they are well positioned to secure a win over Waterford, who continue to slide down the standings.
Waterford
Waterford are now in eighth place. While there’s still an eight-point cushion above the ninth-placed play-off position, they have struggled to gain any momentum. In May, 62-year-old John Coleman was brought in to revive the squad, although he had been out of management for over a decade. Under his guidance, the team has averaged one point per game. Their only win in five outings during his tenure came in his debut match—a 1:0 victory over Galway United.
Bohemian
Galway United are roughly on par with Waterford, but Bohemian are clearly a stronger side. In recent seasons, they were mid-standings finishers, even ending last season in eighth. However, Bohemian have made a significant return to form this campaign. Over the last six rounds, they have picked up five wins and suffered only one defeat to Drogheda United (0:1). On three of those occasions, a single goal was enough to secure the win.
Waterford vs Bohemian Prediction
These sides have already exchanged away wins earlier this season. Currently, Bohemian are in strong form and will once again play away, which makes them favourites to take all three points. As in the previous two meetings, the match is unlikely to feature more than three goals.
