West Brom boast a proud cup history — League Cup winners in 1965/66 and five-time FA Cup champions. However, they have lost their last four meetings with Derby County, including a 3:1 defeat in April 2025.
Derby County
Derby County opened with a 3:1 defeat to Stoke City. After finishing 19th last term, their primary aim this season is to steer clear of a relegation scrap. Derby have never won the League Cup, but they did knock West Bromwich Albion out in their last cup encounter back in 2022 (1:0). At present, they still look unpolished — defensive lapses remain common, and their attacking play is overly reliant on a couple of key players.
