Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the English Premier League match.
West Ham United's form is better than Arsenal's. Should we consider betting on at least a draw? Let’s dive into it.
West Ham United
West Ham United have two wins, a draw, and two losses in their last five matches. It might not seem much, but in the 12th round, they defeated Newcastle United at St. James’ Park (2:0), an achievement not many can claim. This year, only Manchester City and Brighton have managed such a feat. West Ham United are almost injury-free, with only Niclas Füllkrug still recovering since early autumn, and Jean-Clair Todibo picked up an injury against Newcastle United, making his participation doubtful. Additionally, they’ll be without Mohammed Kudus until the Leicester City match on December 3 due to an extended two-match suspension. However, West Ham United have adjusted to these absences.
Arsenal
Meanwhile, Arsenal’s injury list has thinned significantly over the past month. Only Takehiro Tomiyasu, who seems perpetually sidelined, Ben White, who recently joined the list and is out for months, and Gabriel Magalhães, whose situation is unclear but he is potentially available for the game. Since returning from international duty, Arsenal have been rampant, demolishing Nottingham Forest (3:0) in the Premier League and Sporting (5:1) in the Champions League. Yet, before the break, they struggled to score—losing 0:1 to both Newcastle and Inter Milan and drawing 1:1 with Chelsea.
West Ham United vs Arsenal Prediction
Taking cues from past matches, is West Ham in for a thrashing? It's certainly possible. Recall their last encounter in February 2024, when Arsenal handed West Ham a crushing defeat (6:0) away from home. Arsenal are expected to win, but we suggest a safer bet with a minimal handicap on the visitors.
