Adam Williams presents his prediction for the Doncaster William Hill Prospect Stakes (Listed Race, 6f ,2yo) horse racing event.
Late Bounty has made two starts this autumn, finishing second and then securing a maiden win by an impressive 4 1/2 lengths. His entire racing career thus far fits into just one month, but the experience of Ryan Moore should stand him in good stead.
Diego Ventura has raced three times, kicking off with a victory in Ireland over 6f. He then claimed another win at Ascot over the same distance and finished second in a Group 2 race at Newmarket, though that was over 7f.
Arctic Voyage also began his career in September, with two outings in novice stakes. He started at Newbury over 7f, where he came in third, and then won at Nottingham over 6f.
Like Diego Ventura, La Bellota is a son of Mehmas, who raced exclusively as a two-year-old. Unlike his father, La Bellota hasn’t yet notched a win despite having six starts. He has twice come close, losing by a neck in the novice stakes and in the Mill Reef Stakes (Group 2). He also competed in France, but struggled on very heavy ground. Nonetheless, in this field, he has a chance to secure his first victory, with attractive odds of 11/1 on bet365.
