Adam Williams presents his prediction for the Scottish Open snooker match.
Wu Yize
Wu Yize is enjoying a terrific season. He has already broken into the top 32 and reached his first ranking final. Despite staging a remarkable comeback against Neil Robertson, he narrowly lost to the Australian (9-7). Recently, he advanced to the semi-finals of the Snooker Shoot-Out, earning 8,000 ranking points in the process. This achievement has propelled Yize to 12th place in the seasonal rankings, marking a meteoric rise for the young Chinese player, who is displaying a remarkably solid game for his age.
Farakh Ajaib
Farakh Ajaib debuted on the tour in 2020, then attempted to return for two years through amateur tournaments, and now in 2024, he's back via Q School. The Pakistani has secured three victories this season against Julien Leclercq (4-3), Liam Graham (4-2), and Elliot Slessor (4-1). In his other matches, Farakh managed to put up a fight, but ultimately lost. So far, Ajaib has been unable to enhance the quality of his game and is forced to contest every match to retain his place on the tour. However, his level of play remains low, his break-building is poor, and it is likely that Farakh will fall off the tour at the end of the season.
Wu Yize vs Farakh Ajaib Prediction
Yize is the clear favourite for the upcoming match, and we are confident in his victory, barring any unforeseen circumstances. Wu is in excellent form, and with Judd Trump having withdrawn from the tournament, Yize's next opponent will be Ishpreet Singh Chadha, whom Wu should overcome with ease. We do not expect much resistance from Ajaib in the match, so we suggest a bet on Yize leading after four frames.
