Participants included the top players in the PDC rankings, who received special invitations, as well as darts players from the regions where each stage was held.
The lineup for the World Series of Darts Finals 2024 is composed of the leaders from the overall World Series of Darts rankings and the top PDC players. Additionally, eight spots in the tournament were granted to professional players (Tour Card Holders) who won a special qualifying event.
World Series of Darts Finals 2024 betting odds
Luke Humphries is the key candidate to win the title. Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen follow Humphries, being one of the favourites, too.
World Series of Darts Finals 2024 Winner Odds
Luke Humphries
All analysts favour Luke Humphries. The reigning world darts champion remains the main favourite in every tournament he participates in. This season, Humphries won one leg of the World Series of Darts — the New Zealand Masters. While he is not yet in peak form, there is no doubt that he will show his highest level at a televised tournament.
Luke Littler
The second favourite is 17-year-old Luke Littler. This year, the wunderkind continues to amaze with his impressive victories. In the World Series of Darts, the young talent won the Bahrain Masters and Poland Masters stages, and also reached the finals of the Dutch Masters and Australian Masters. Littler has also impressed with consistent performances and high results in other professional series and tournaments. He is certainly one to watch closely — most likely, this young talent will emerge as the winner of the World Series of Darts Finals 2024.
Michael van Gerwen
Dutchman Michael van Gerwen is ranked third, and there are reasons for that. The great player has not yet fully recovered after dental surgery, and his form is far from optimal. This season, MVG won the Dutch Masters, enjoying strong home crowd support. Considering that the World Series of Darts Finals 2024 will be held in Amsterdam, van Gerwen will have a psychological advantage over other top competitors. However, a long break and somewhat unstable results might work against the great Dutchman.
Gerwyn Price
Fourth in line is Gerwyn Price. The Welshman performed well in the World Series of Darts, winning the Nordic Masters and Australian Masters stages and reaching the final of the US Masters. However, compared to the powerful performances of Luke Humphries and Luke Littler, the former world champion seems less confident. Moreover, his complicated relationship with the audience still affects his game. There are no signs yet that Price will win the televised tournament — he will have to make maximum efforts to do so.
Rob Cross
Rob Cross occupies the fifth position, having had a mixed relationship with the World Series of Darts. This season, the Englishman reached the finals three times at various stages — he won the US Masters but lost at the Nordic Masters and Poland Masters. His rivalry with Gerwyn Price has become a hallmark of the entire series. However, Cross’s current form is not convincing — he can either win easily or lose dramatically. Most likely, Rob will reach the later stages, but he is unlikely to contend for the title.
Peter Wright
It's also worth considering Peter Wright, for whom bookmakers offer odds of around 22/1 for a victory. The star Scottish darts player had not delighted fans with wins or impressive matches for some time, but at the recent German Darts Championship, he made a breakthrough — he unexpectedly took the title, defeating Luke Littler in a thrilling final. There is a sense that Wright is regaining his championship form, so belief in him could be justified.
