Atlético Nacional
Atlético Nacional not only top the Clausura standings but are also the defending champions of the previous Clausura, having beaten Deportes Tolima over two legs in the final (3:1 on aggregate). The squad is a prominent force in Colombian football. While victories against them in Medellín are possible, they are typically claimed only by teams of playoff calibre. Lesser sides have struggled: Atlético Nacional closed out the regular season with four consecutive wins and then secured three clean sheets in the Copa Libertadores group stage.
La Equidad
During the first half of the 2025 Copa Mustang, La Equidad finished last, collecting just 10 points (0.5 per match) and conceding a league-worst 35 goals. A substantial portion of those came from three heavy defeats in the latter stages of the Apertura. The squad also faltered early in the Copa Colombia, losing three of their four group-stage fixtures, although they never conceded more than two goals in a single game.
Atlético Nacional vs La Equidad Prediction
La Equidad managed to keep a clean sheet in their Clausura opener, despite being reduced to ten men. Fortunately, Águilas Doradas Rionegro were also reduced to ten players shortly after. Going into this fixture, La Equidad are unlikely to take any points, but a heavy defeat does not appear likely either. They are expected to put up resistance and likely lose by no more than two goals.
