Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Club friendly match.
Tottenham Hotspur continue their preparations for the UEFA Super Cup, where they’ll take on Paris Saint-Germain in just a week’s time. Before that, they head to the iconic Allianz Arena for a high-profile friendly against Bayern Munich.
Bayern Munich
Since their appearance at the Club World Cup, Bayern Munich have played just one match — a narrow 2:1 win over Olympique Lyon. Their key players are still working their way toward peak condition, so we shouldn’t expect them to be firing on all cylinders just yet. Star signing Luis Díaz has yet to fully integrate into the squad, meaning Bayern’s attack still lacks cohesion and bite at this stage.
Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur, on the other hand, have been actively building match sharpness over the past fortnight. During their Asian tour, they beat Arsenal (1:0) and earned a solid draw against a strong Newcastle United side (1:1). Crucially, Thomas Frank has kept a settled line-up, allowing the key players to find rhythm and fitness. One of the standout performers has been Pape Sarr, who has impressed in a more advanced role with three goals in four matches.
Bayern Munich vs Tottenham Hotspur Prediction
The bookmakers see Bayern as clear favourites, but at this point in pre-season, it’s unlikely they’ll maintain intensity for the full 90 minutes. Tottenham look better prepared physically and have every chance of coming away with a positive result. To play it safe, backing them with a +1.5 handicap seems like the right call.
