Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Club friendly match.
While many top-tier clubs are wrapping up their pre-season preparations, Juventus are only just getting started. Their first serious test comes against Borussia Dortmund, who will host Juventus at Signal Iduna Park.
Borussia Dortmund
The injury to Nico Schlotterbeck has significantly disrupted the pre-season preparations of Borussia Dortmund. The centre-back was a key figure in the defensive setup, and his absence was evident in the recent 3:2 win over Lille OSC. Still, the attacking line of Borussia Dortmund remains in excellent form. Serhou Guirassy, Jude Bellingham, and Maximilian Beier are delivering consistent performances and regularly finding the back of the net.
Juventus
Since participating in the Club World Cup, Juventus have played just one match — a 2:2 draw against Reggina, a Serie B club. That performance offered two key insights. Firstly, the partnership between Francisco Conceição and Jonathan David looks promising and could make an impact in both Serie A and the Champions League. Secondly, the defensive structure remains highly vulnerable. While Gleison Bremer has returned to action, he is still far from peak condition after recovering from a cruciate ligament injury.
Borussia Dortmund vs Juventus Prediction
The main preseason focus for Juventus is on improving their attacking output. They are prioritising offensive play, which could come at the expense of defensive solidity — a risky approach considering the attacking quality in the opposition line-up. This match has all the makings of a high-scoring affair. A bet on Total Over seems justified.
