Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Bundesliga match.
Just two points separate Borussia Mönchengladbach and RB Leipzig heading into this crucial top-six clash. Both sides are within reach of a Champions League berth, but equally at risk of missing out on European football altogether.
Borussia Mönchengladbach
Since mid-January, Borussia M'gladbach have delivered over 2.5 goals in nine of their last ten Bundesliga matches. Their most recent outing — a 4:2 win at Werder Bremen — saw Alassane Pléa steal the show with a hat-trick and an assist, all before the 50-minute mark. The team racked up 2.32 xG in Bremen but they remain defensively suspect, posting a league-worst 24.80 xGA in 2025.
RB Leipzig
RB Leipzig are also giving up too much at the back — their 19.71 xGA in the last 11 games is the fifth-worst in the division. Although they secured a crucial 2:0 win over Borussia Dortmund last time out, they were under siege in the second half (0.74–2.77 in xG) and needed a heroic performance from keeper Péter Gulácsi to hang on. Leipzig are winless in five consecutive away games in the league and will face more adversity in Mönchengladbach.
Borussia Mönchengladbach vs RB Leipzig Prediction
Six of the last ten meetings between these sides have seen over 2.5 goals land. Both sides are desperate to avoid sharing points with a direct rival — expect an open, attacking contest.
