Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Ligue 1 match.
Two clubs still active in the closing stages of this season’s UEFA Champions League campaign meet in western France. However, only AS Monaco remain serious contenders for a place in next year’s competition.
Stade Brestois 29
Stade Brestois 29 continue to talk up their ambitions, but their hopes are slim. Mathematically, they could still chase third place, though they currently sit nine points behind Olympique de Marseille and face a challenging run-in against four strong opponents. AS Monaco are currently second in the standings, making them an even more difficult target to catch. Last weekend, Stade Brestois 29 claimed a win (4:2) away to Toulouse. That result, however, came against a side ranked just 14th in the league’s home form standings and was far from a surprise. Stade Brestois 29 have a decent record at Stade Francis-Le Blé, but have managed just one win in their last four home fixtures. That lone victory came against 14th-placed Angers SCO, hardly a result to boast about. They also dropped points in a draw (2:2) with 10th-placed AJ Auxerre and were held to a goalless stalemate by 15th-placed Stade de Reims.
AS Monaco
AS Monaco have found the net in seven consecutive matches. That run includes four wins, two draws, and a single defeat — a narrow loss (1:2) to Lille OSC. AS Monaco have shown a consistent pattern: scoring twice is usually enough to get the job done. In 2025, only Nantes and Benfica have managed to hold them to a draw.
Stade Brestois 29 vs AS Monaco Prediction
That pattern has also held firm in their last four encounters with Stade Brestois 29, all of which saw AS Monaco score at least twice and win. We’re backing a similar outcome here.
