Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the English Premier League match.
Brighton and West Ham United have both endured a poor run of form since the international break, failing to win any of their last five English Premier League outings. Brighton & Hove Albion have effectively fallen out of the race for European qualification, while West Ham United have slipped to 17th in the standings, teetering just above the relegation zone.
Brighton
Brighton last picked up three points on 15 March, in a 2:2 draw with Manchester City. Despite the result, the squad looked impressive, registering more shots (15-11), creating more big chances (6-4), and posting a superior expected goals tally (2.04-1.72 in xG). However, in their recent 2:4 loss to Brentford, the key statistics were firmly in favour of the opposition — including shots (16-12), big chances (6-2), and xG (2.17-1.43). To compound matters, the squad’s top English Premier League scorer João Pedro, who has scored 10 goals, was shown a straight red card.
West Ham United
West Ham United had a chance to move up to 16th above Tottenham Hotspur, but they let a home win slip through their fingers against Southampton, conceding a stoppage-time equaliser in the 93rd minute. Despite being bottom of the standings, Southampton matched them in overall performance. The squad also dropped points in recent matches against Bournemouth (2:2) and Liverpool (1:2), both due to goals conceded inside the final 15 minutes.
Brighton vs West Ham United Prediction
Given that Brighton have scored eight goals across their last four matches, they are expected to push hard until the final whistle. West Ham United, meanwhile, have shown a consistent trend of late-game vulnerabilities.
