Their Apertura debut was underwhelming, suffering a 1:3 defeat to a well-organised Deportivo Toluca side. Despite the loss, the squad managed to get on the scoresheet — a continuation of their attacking form from the Clausura, where they netted 36 goals across 17 matches, the second-best tally in the league behind Deportivo Toluca (41). Querétaro FC
