Neither club featured in the Segunda División last season. They come from different levels, but does that automatically point to Leganés, recently relegated from La Liga, taking the points?
Cultural Leonesa
Cultural Leonesa came up from the Primera Federación, the third tier. They have returned to the Segunda División after seven years away. The opening fixtures suggested a lack of sharpness. The team has not collected a single point and sits at a combined score of 1:7. The goal difference is somewhat misleading, though. There was only one genuine collapse: the squad fell apart away to Burgos CF (1:5). That sequence started with a dismissal in the first minute and a penalty for a last-man foul. With eleven on the pitch, Cultural Leonesa did not lose by more than 0:1.
Leganés
Leganés were only just relegated from La Liga. Competing at that level was difficult, but this season the squad can aim for the upper reaches of the standings. Leganés are not outstanding, ranking only eighth by market value, and the other two relegated returnees look stronger. So far the pattern has been repetitive: only draws, including two by the same scoreline (1:1). Mid-standings sides have prevented any wins.
Cultural Leonesa vs Leganés Prediction
Cultural Leonesa also lost by the narrowest of margins to last season’s mid-standings sides Almería and Sporting Gijón. Now the squad faces a potential leader, yet at present clearly a mid-standings team. Therefore Leganés are not immune to a draw, so we are only betting on them with a zero handicap.
