Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the English Premier League match.
At the beginning of April, Fulham were still in the mix for a Champions League place, but those ambitions were dashed following a loss in the previous round. Everton, meanwhile, can finish no higher than 12th, and even that scenario appears unlikely now.
Fulham
Ahead of Matchweek 30, Fulham were just four points off the European places, and even a defeat to Arsenal did little to dent their hopes. A stunning win over Liverpool briefly revived belief, but three defeats in the following four fixtures brought their campaign back down to earth. Now, Fulham’s most realistic aim is to finish above Southampton.
Everton
Since their nine-match unbeaten streak ended in the Merseyside derby on 2 April, Everton have found it difficult to regain momentum. In fairness, their spring schedule has been particularly demanding. A 1:1 draw with Arsenal was followed by an impressive 1:0 away victory against Nottingham Forest. However, they fell short against Manchester City and Chelsea (0:2 and 0:1). Perhaps the most frustrating result came last time out, when a late equaliser saw them draw 2:2 with Ipswich Town.
Fulham vs Everton Prediction
Everton have held their own against some of the league's strongest teams, and against a Fulham side that has lost its edge, the squad should be capable of avoiding defeat — double chance.
