Gary Wilson
Gary Wilson ended the last year positively. He won the Scottish Open, beating Noppon Saengkham (9-5). He failed to qualify for the Masters in Germany, though. In January, he lost the final game in the group of the Championship League . Wilson had many games after that but he failed to win a trophy. OF course, it was useful for Gary, he had time and possibility to train, without breaking a playing rhythm. Wilson and Boiko are from different snooker galaxies.
Iulian Boiko
Qualifying for the main part of such a tournament is an achievement. Iulian is the youngest professional player, he got this status at the age of 14. Unfortunately, his career progressed slowly and his current level isn’t really high. A recent example of it can be found in a tournament in Albania. Iulian reached the final and lost. He was defeated 4:0 by a snooker player from Hong Kong. Boiko was one step away from getting a 2-year licence for the Main Tour. This is a reason to be upset.

The favourite is obvious. I don’t think that Gary Wilson will face a problem in this game. The last and only time these rivals had a head-to-head game was in 2020, with Gary winning 4:1. I believe we will see the dame in this match and Gary will advance to the next round.
