Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Scottish Premiership match.
Hibernian, now sitting in fifth place amid a tight battle in the league, face a stern test against the undisputed leaders of the division.
Hibernian
A 10-match unbeaten run is something even Celtic might envy, given that they have only gone seven games without defeat in the Premiership, not to mention their struggles in the Champions League. Hibernian have not been drawing too often—just four times in this run—and defensively, they have been solid, conceding no more than once per game, except in the 3:3 thriller against Rangers.
Celtic
Celtic also put three past Hibernian the last time they met, only on that occasion, the Edinburgh club had no reply for the reigning champions. That defeat on 7 December remains Hibernian’s last in the league. Celtic have been cruising past most opponents by multiple goals, although they have stumbled against Dundee United (0:0), Dundee (3:3), and lost to Rangers (0:3).
Hibernian vs Celtic Prediction
Celtic have won each of the last five meetings between these sides, regardless of the venue. However, Hibernian’s impressive unbeaten streak suggests they will put up a fight. While that may not be enough to avoid defeat, they should be able to keep it respectable. Given the hosts’ recent form, we’re backing them with a handicap.
