Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Coppa Italia match.
The Coppa Italia reaches its decisive phase as the second leg of the semi-final between Internazionale and AC Milan gets underway. Recent Milan derbies have delivered plenty of drama. Inter Milan remain in contention for a possible treble, while AC Milan look to salvage a disappointing campaign by lifting a trophy.
Inter Milan
Sunday’s 1:0 loss to Bologna brought an end to Inter Milan’s 13-match unbeaten streak, a run that had started in mid-February. Before that defeat, the team had seen the "Both Teams to Score – Yes" market land in six straight games, often benefitting from open and expansive matches. In the first leg of the semi-final (1:1), Inter Milan looked the more dangerous side (1.55–0.86 in xG and 7–4 in shots on target). In Serie A, they also became the first to surpass 70 accurate shots on target this season, currently sitting at 72.
AC Milan
AC Milan also suffered defeat at the weekend, falling 1:0 at home to Atalanta, a result that widened the gap between them and the top six to six points. Since 22 February, the "Both Teams to Score – Yes" bet has landed in five of their last six away fixtures. Sérgio Conceição is once again expected to start either Luka Jović or Tammy Abraham, with January arrival Alejandro Jiménez remaining an option from the bench.
Inter Milan vs AC Milan Prediction
Since the beginning of last season, both Inter Milan and AC Milan have found the net in six consecutive derby meetings. AC Milan are unbeaten in this fixture for over a year, recording two wins and two draws. The second leg of this semi-final looks set to deliver another lively contest.
