Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the La Liga match.
Las Palmas still have a mathematical chance to secure safety before the season concludes, but they are unlikely to gain any points when they welcome Atletico Madrid. The visitors remain fully motivated, with both Barcelona and Real Madrid still at risk of dropping points in the title race.
Las Palmas
Before their 3:1 win over Getafe, Las Palmas had suffered 10 defeats in 14 matches in 2025. Since January, they have posted an xGA of 29.29 — a statistic exceeded only by bottom-placed Valladolid (30.89). At home, Las Palmas have conceded at least twice in five of their last six games, a stretch that includes four losses and two draws. For the upcoming fixture, they are set to be without their first-choice goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen, who is likely sidelined for the rest of the campaign.
Atletico Madrid
Emotional victories against Sevilla (2:1) and Valladolid (4:2) have helped Atletico Madrid rediscover their rhythm. Early eliminations from the Champions League and Copa del Rey had dented morale, but the squad now appear poised for another push to challenge the league’s top two. Away from home, Atletico Madrid have conceded only 12 goals across 15 matches — the best defensive record in La Liga. Julián Álvarez has hit peak form, with five goals and one assist in seven appearances for club and country since 16 March.
Las Palmas vs Atletico Madrid Prediction
In 2024, Las Palmas suffered two heavy defeats against Atletico Madrid — 0:5 and 0:2. A reversal of fortunes on home soil seems improbable. A win for the visitors looks the logical choice.
