Manchester United are set to play their final friendly before the English Premier League campaign kicks off. On Saturday, they will host Fiorentina at Old Trafford. Fiorentina are not known for shying away from high-profile opposition.
Manchester United
Surprisingly, Manchester United delivered a strong showing during their tour of the United States. They recorded victories over Bournemouth (4:1) and West Ham United (2:1), while also drawing with Everton (2:2). One of the standout performers was Bruno Fernandes, who registered four goal contributions (3+1). Even Rasmus Højlund found the net, a welcome sign after a disappointing previous season.
Fiorentina
Fiorentina, on the other hand, have struggled to make an impression. While they managed to defeat lower-tier opposition, they failed to overcome more competitive opponents such as Leicester City (0:2) and Nottingham Forest (0:0). The squad has not been reinforced over the summer, with the club only finalising permanent deals for previously loaned players. Much of the attacking burden remains on Moise Kean, who scored 25 goals across all competitions last season—a personal best by a significant margin. Whether he can maintain that level remains uncertain.
Manchester United vs Fiorentina Prediction
Manchester United appear to be the clear and undisputed favourites. Not only do they boast superior squad depth and overall quality, but the match will also be played at Old Trafford, where the home crowd will expect nothing less than a victory. We believe they have every chance of delivering just that.
