Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Segunda División match.
This is a fourth-round fixture in the Segunda División. Málaga and Granada have switched roles. Last year the former fought for survival, while the latter chased a play-off berth. Now the roles have reversed: Málaga sit above them in the standings.
Málaga
A single goal conceded and seven points from nine have underpinned that position. There have been disciplined 1:0 wins over Real Sociedad B and Las Palmas. Only against Eibar did Málaga have to rescue a point, hence a 1:1 draw. At the end of the previous season there were also two home wins by the narrowest margin (1:0). Overall, four of the last six rounds finished as Total Under 2.5 Goals.
Granada
Granada are porous in defence at the moment, with eight goals conceded. Eibar proved far more dangerous for them (0:3). In the final six rounds of 2024/25, the team recorded three Total Unders. As for away matches, there were four in that span; Granada lost three of them, and in those defeats there were never more than three goals scored.
Málaga vs Granada Prediction
One of those away games was in Málaga. A single Antonio Cordero penalty was enough for the hosts to win (1:0). We think the hosts can win again here, and we will take the goals line with a small cushion given Granada’s defensive weakness.
