Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Serie A match.
Three rounds remain in the Serie A season, and Napoli have finally claimed the top spot outright. However, with just a three-point cushion, the title race remains wide open.
Napoli
The absence of European fixtures has played a crucial role in the success of Napoli this season. They have approached the final stretch in excellent physical shape and with few injuries. Although key forward David Neres is currently unavailable, Giacomo Raspadori has filled the gap effectively, contributing a goal and an assist in his last three appearances. Defensively, Napoli have been exceptional, conceding only 25 goals in 35 matches—comfortably the best defensive record in the league.
Genoa
Genoa, meanwhile, seem to be fading as the campaign winds down. They have lost three matches in a row and scored only twice across their last six league outings. This slump can largely be attributed to an injury crisis, with eight regulars currently sidelined. The most impactful absence is Fabio Miretti, who had been central to their attacking build-up. In his absence, Genoa have exceeded 1 xG in only one match—and that came against Como, who have one of the weakest defences in Serie A.
Napoli vs Genoa Prediction
Napoli have been especially strong at home. In their last two matches at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, they eased past mid-table Torino (2:0) and comfortably beat relegation-threatened Empoli (3:0). Given Genoa’s current state, they are unlikely to mount much resistance. A routine win by at least a two-goal margin for the hosts appears highly likely.
