Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Ligue 1 match.
OGC Nice dropped points again last time out, so they approach Matchday 4 in 12th place, only just ahead of Nantes, whom they host.
OGC Nice
OGC Nice were beaten by Le Havre AC (3:1). They have already suffered two defeats in three rounds: in the opener, even the home crowd could not help against Toulouse (0:1). The inconsistency in results was predictable. Nice lost goalkeeper Marcin Bułka, who last season helped the squad concede 6.22 fewer than expected from xGA. Nice are less stable in defence now, which explains the dips in results.
Nantes
Nantes claimed their first win in Round 3 against AJ Auxerre (1:0). A clean sheet was secured by the experienced Alban Lafont, who produced a couple of eye-catching saves, and he made four saves in total. It is slightly surprising to see the club in 13th place, given they have conceded only twice in three rounds. The attack is clearly underperforming. In the first away outing at RC Strasbourg Alsace (0:1), Nantes mustered only 0.44 xG and nine shots, with just two on target.
OGC Nice vs Nantes Prediction
With those statistics, we are inclined to expect that we will not see more than two goals at the Allianz Riviera.
