Serbia
Serbia have been unstable throughout the qualifying tournament and the recent friendlies. Sometimes the side lost some games in the first half. The side failed to advance to the 2022 World Cup knockout stage from the group with Brazil, Switzerland and Cameroon. However, they will take part in their first Euro in the 21st century. Serbia conceded 9 goals in their 8 games in the qualifying group. It’s goint to be hard for them to advance to the knockout stage with such an unstable defensive line. The recent friendlies have seen Serbia being beaten by Austria (1:2) and beating Sweden (3:0).
England
Last week saw Southgate being criticised for leaving Maddison and Grealish out of the squad. Moreover, England lost their friendly game versus Iceland (0:1). This defeat didn’t mean anything actually. The side confidently performed in the qualifying group. Their opponents managed to take only 4 points in the 8 games against England. The Three Lions scored 22 goals. They have the most expensive squad, their attacking line (Foden, Kane, Bellingham, Palmer) is unstoppable by an average side.
Serbia – England prediction
England is the main favourite to win the trophy in 2024. However, they still have never been European champions. The game against Serbia is the first step on the way to the final. A favourite likes to start with a victory. England are supposed to win this game.
