The clash between Feyenoord Rotterdam and Aston Villa promises to be one of the highlights of Matchday 2 in the Europa League. The hosts slipped up in their opening game of the league phase and will be desperate to make amends, while Aston Villa are unlikely to give anything away easily.
Feyenoord Rotterdam
Against Braga (0:1) Feyenoord Rotterdam fielded a half-rotated line-up: Givairo Read, Leo Sauer and Ayase Ueda were all left out of the squad. All three returned to the starting XI against Groningen (1:0) and made a big impact, with Ayase Ueda scoring the winner. With them back in action, the team look far stronger and more dangerous.
Aston Villa
After a shaky start in the Premier League, Aston Villa have finally found their rhythm. They first edged Bologna in the Europa League (1:0), then swept aside Fulham (3:1). John McGinn has been a revelation in a new attacking role, producing two goals and an assist in his last four matches.
Feyenoord Rotterdam vs Aston Villa Prediction
This is a crucial game for both teams, and there will be no room for complacency. Expect the focus to be on defensive discipline, with a single goal likely to decide the outcome. In our view, backing the under on goals is the smartest call.
