Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the 2026 World Cup Qualification match.
The top two sides in Group B go head-to-head in a crucial clash that could determine the group winner. South Korea remain unbeaten and sit atop the standings, while Jordan are just behind and could draw level on points with a win. The Koreans won the previous match, but Jordan will be out for revenge.
South Korea
South Korea have avoided defeat throughout the qualifying campaign. They’ve scored in six straight matches and average two goals per game, thanks in large part to the efforts of Hwang Hee-chan and Son Heung-min, who have five goals and two assists between them. However, defensive lapses have been a recurring issue — they’ve conceded in five of their seven qualifiers, including against group minnows Palestine and Kuwait.
Jordan
Jordan, meanwhile, are enjoying a strong campaign themselves, with only one loss in their last seven qualifiers. They’ve found the net in five of those games and recently defeated Oman (4:0), a result made more impressive by South Korea's recent (1:1) draw with the same opponent. Striker Yazan Al-Naimat has been in lethal form with five goals to his name. But like Korea, Jordan have their own frailties at the back — they’ve also conceded in five out of seven matches, including twice to the Koreans earlier in the campaign.
South Korea vs Jordan Prediction
With both teams strong in attack but vulnerable at the back, and with Jordan chasing points in Seoul, this sets up nicely for a high-energy match with chances at both ends. Recent form and styles of play suggest that both sides will get on the scoresheet.
