Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Bundesliga match.
Unlike St. Pauli, who have been dragged back into the relegation battle after a poor run of results, Hoffenheim have already secured a comfortable mid-table position. The hosts have struggled in Hamburg, winning just once in five home matches since the start of 2025.
St. Pauli
Following a 1:1 draw with Wolfsburg, St. Pauli remain five points above the automatic relegation zone, but the playoff spot is now just two points away. They have picked up only two points from the last six league matches and injuries combined with defensive errors have pulled them back into trouble. Their attacking output has been abysmal, generating just 4.19 xG in the last six rounds—the worst tally in the Bundesliga.
Hoffenheim
Since their elimination from the Europa League, Hoffenheim have significantly improved their domestic form. The attacking duo of Gift Orban and Andrej Kramaric has been particularly effective, with 4.93 xG accumulated over the last four matches. They have also benefited from defensive luck, conceding just three goals in their last four games, despite 8.29 xGA.
St. Pauli vs Hoffenheim Prediction
St. Pauli’s home record is the second-worst in the Bundesliga, with just nine points from 12 matches. Hoffenheim, in much better form, should take advantage of their struggling opponents and extend their cushion from the bottom sides.
