Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the La Liga match.
Valencia are fighting to escape the relegation zone, but they have been impressive at Mestalla, where they have already beaten Real Sociedad and Real Betis. Meanwhile, bottom-of-the-table Valladolid look destined for the drop unless they can pull off a miracle.
Valencia
Valencia have now gone three league matches without a win, but they have still put up competitive performances. They were outclassed by Atlético Madrid (0:3) but earned respectable draws against Villarreal (1:1) and Osasuna (3:3). At Mestalla, Valencia have lost only to Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid in their last six home matches, while securing victories against mid-table opposition like Real Sociedad (1:0) and Celta Vigo (2:1). Crucially, they have scored in 10 of their 13 home league games this season, proving that they are always a threat on their own turf.
Real Valladolid
Real Valladolid are rock-bottom in La Liga, having lost 12 of their 13 away matches this season. Their defence has been the worst in the division, conceding a staggering 60 goals. In their last seven matches alone, they have picked up just one point while shipping 23 goals. Goalkeeper Karl Hein has recorded five clean sheets this season, but his defence has been constantly exposed. Their recent 1:7 humiliation against Athletic Bilbao was a clear example, as Valladolid allowed an alarming 16 shots on target.
Valencia vs Real Valladolid Prediction
Valencia are simply the stronger and more motivated side as they battle to stay in La Liga. Valladolid’s away form is atrocious, and their defensive struggles make them likely to concede once again. With that in mind, a combination bet looks like the best option.
