ATP Tournament Calendar for the 2026 Season

Men’s Tennis Tour Schedule.

The 57th ATP season will get under way on 2 January and run through to 20 December 2026. Alongside the four Grand Slam tournaments and the ATP Finals, the calendar features nine ATP 1000 Masters events, 16 ATP 500 tournaments and 30 ATP 250 competitions. As tradition dictates, the men’s tour schedule also includes non-ranking events such as the Davis Cup, United Cup, Laver Cup and Hopman Cup.

The headline change for 2026 is the introduction of an additional rest week after Wimbledon. Following years of player complaints, the governing bodies have adjusted the schedule to allow for a smoother transition from the grass season to hard courts.

Let’s take a closer look at the calendar, what to expect from the players, and what to keep an eye on when betting on individual tournaments or long-term markets.

The season will begin with the international United Cup, staged since 2022 across several Australian cities and serving as a warm-up for the Australian Open. It is the first mixed-team event of its kind, featuring both men and women. The reigning champions and favourites for the upcoming edition are the United States.

January will also feature four ATP 250 tournaments, with the month’s climax being the Australian Open, which starts on 18 January.

Last year, Jannik Sinner convincingly claimed his second consecutive Australian Slam, dropping just two sets throughout the tournament.

According to bookmakers, the leading favourites are Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, though Novak Djokovic should not be discounted as he targets a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam title this season.

It is worth noting that the start of the season can be tricky, with many players entering ATP 250 events primarily to play themselves into form.

Felix Auger-Aliassime is one to watch as he defends his title in Adelaide. That said, the Canadian may opt to sacrifice a small number of points in order to be fully prepared for the Australian Open.

February opens with the Davis Cup, followed by a packed schedule of six ATP 500 tournaments and four ATP 250 events. The tournaments in Dubai, Santiago and Acapulco have been moved from March to February, making the final month of winter one of the busiest on the calendar.

Most of the top 10 will take a breather, with Auger-Aliassime the only player defending 250 points in Montpellier. It makes sense to focus on the favourites at the prestigious ATP 500 events in Dubai and Doha. The tournament in Delray Beach also acts as a useful prelude to Indian Wells and Miami.

March

Spring begins with two Masters 1000 events at Indian Wells and Miami, where all top-10 players will be in contention for the Sunshine Double. This feat has not been achieved on the ATP Tour for nine years, dating back to Novak Djokovic, who won both Masters in 2011, 2014, 2015 and 2016.

In 2026, Jack Draper will defend his Indian Wells title after an impressive run that saw him beat Alcaraz (2:1) in the semi-finals before comfortably dispatching Holger Rune (2:0) in the final.

March brings the first hard-court swing of the season to a close, so Sinner and Djokovic are expected to arrive in peak condition. Keep an eye as well on young Jakub Mensik, who last year won the Miami Masters, denying Djokovic his first trophy of 2025.

April

The start of the clay-court season and the move to Europe always lead to increased confidence in Carlos Alcaraz. The Spaniard will be defending his Monte Carlo title while preparing for his favourite major, Roland Garros.

Alongside Alcaraz, Casper Ruud is traditionally strong on clay and will look to claim the Madrid title for a second year in a row.

The key question in May is whether Alcaraz can complete a hat-trick of titles in Paris. He won convincingly in both 2024 and 2025 and is aiming to challenge Rafael Nadal’s record of five consecutive Roland Garros titles from 2010 to 2014.

Bookmakers also rate Sinner highly, but there is a growing sense that the clay-court season will revolve around a rivalry between Alcaraz and Ruud. At this stage, the Spaniard looks the stronger option, though definitive conclusions are best drawn in early spring.

The grass-court season begins, offering another major opportunity for Alcaraz, whose win percentage on grass sits around 90%. He will defend his title in London and look to avenge last year’s Wimbledon defeat to Sinner.

Taylor Fritz is also worth watching, having produced consistently strong performances on grass in recent years. Last season, the American won the tournaments in Stuttgart and Eastbourne and reached the Wimbledon semi-finals.

August

Early August will be dominated by the Cincinnati Masters, where another showdown between Sinner and Alcaraz is expected.

The rivalry between the world number one and number two is the defining theme of the season, and the lost title in Cincinnati was arguably the most painful moment for the Italian, especially as he was forced to retire just half an hour into the match.

Even so, bookmakers still view Sinner as the leading favourite for the final Grand Slam of the year.

In September, the tour heads to Asia and begins its final stretch. Once again, fans can expect clashes between Sinner and Alcaraz, who each claimed an ATP 500 title last year. The month also features the exhibition Laver Cup in London, with the participation of Alcaraz and Fritz already confirmed.

Before the season fully transitions to the indoor hard-court phase, October brings the Shanghai Masters. Since its return in 2023, the tournament has been renowned for unpredictable outcomes. The most recent edition was won by Valentin Vacherot, a victory that propelled him into the top 40 of the rankings for the first time in his 10-year career.

The final straight begins with the Paris Masters and concludes with the ATP Finals. All eyes will be on Sinner, who faces the task of defending both titles.

Between the two marquee events, there will be two ATP 250 tournaments where Novak Djokovic could make an appearance. The Serbian is likely to skip the ATP Finals but may not want to end the year without a title, repeating last season’s scenario when he lifted the trophy in Athens.
