"Incredible Disappointment": Washington's head coach Reflects on loss to Toronto
Washington Capitals' head coach Spencer Carbery shared his thoughts following the team's overtime defeat to the Toronto Maple Leafs (3-4 OT) in an NHL regular-season clash.
With just four minutes remaining in the third period, the Capitals were leading by two goals.
"The way this match ended is simply disappointing. Absolutely. It's uncharacteristic for our team. Playing against a team on their second game in two days and then losing a two-goal advantage late in the third period is an incredible disappointment," Carbery remarked to the Washington press office.
As a result of the game, the Maple Leafs have accumulated 22 points, securing fourth place in the NHL's Eastern Conference, while the Capitals trail closely with 21 points.
In their upcoming matches, Toronto will face the Edmonton Oilers on November 17, while Washington is set to play the Colorado Avalanche the day before.
