Barcelona not pursuing Sporting's forward Gyökeres
Barcelona's sporting director, Deco, has stated that the Catalan club is not planning to acquire Swedish forward Viktor Gyökeres from Portugal's Sporting Lisbon.
«He’s a good striker who scores a lot of goals, but we’re not working on that. We have Lewandowski, we’re so happy with him and we’re not going to discuss any striker now», Deco was quoted as saying by journalist and insider Fabrizio Romano on social media.
The 26-year-old forward has been with the Portuguese club since July 2023. His contract with the team is set to run until 2028. This season, Gyökeres has played 18 matches for Sporting across all competitions and scored 23 goals. Transfermarkt estimates his value at €70 million.
