Spain had a dreadful start to the qualifiers, losing both of their opening games. With this, they have left themselves no room for further mistakes. Next up, they face Slovakia, who are also yet to secure a win.
Slovakia
Slovakia have begun their tournament on a weak note, losing to Latvia and Belgium by margins of 12 and 15 points, respectively. They have one of the weakest offences among all teams, averaging only 56 points per game. Additionally, Slovakia are plagued by mistakes, leading to 15.5 turnovers per game.
Spain
In both of their matches, Spain were distinctly unlucky. They lost by just four and five points. In those games, the team struggled to rack up points, averaging only 64. However, in the context of this meeting, it's important to note that Spain excel at capitalising on their opponents' mistakes, averaging six steals per game and converting those into 17.5 points.
Slovakia vs Spain Prediction
Even Spain's admittedly poor performance in their first two qualifying matches doesn't put them on par with Slovakia. Now, with no room for error, the Spanish players will do everything possible to secure a win. Given their determination, we expect Slovakia will have little to counter with, and we're backing the favourite with a handicap.
