Attila The Hun: Design and Theme
🖼️ Graphics
The reels of Attila The Hun open on a scene straight out of an ancient war painting: Roman legionaries lined up on the left, Hun warriors facing them on the right. Behind them — rolling mountains and a grey valley that feels like the calm before battle. Every symbol fits the military mood — soldiers, shields, war beasts, and coins stamped with imperial faces. Armour gleams, shields look heavy, and even the animals carry that same sense of discipline and danger.
🎶 Sound
The soundtrack beats like a slow war march — drums, horns, and tension. With each respin, the rhythm tightens, and when bonus rounds trigger, the volume swells into full battle mode. Clashes, metal strikes, and marching echoes make the slot sound as if it’s constantly on the brink of combat.

Special symbols
- Roman Warrior Wild — substitutes for all regular symbols and pays x2, x7.5, and x20 for 3, 4, and 5 on a line. Each appearance triggers Walking Wild Respins, with the wild moving one reel to the right after every respin until it leaves the grid.
- Hun Warrior Wild — works the same way but moves left across the reels instead. Payouts mirror the Roman warrior’s: x2, x7.5, and x20.
- General Aetius — lands only on reel 1. When activated, he places 2 to 15 Roman Wilds randomly across the reels and starts a respin sequence. The general himself has no payout.
- General Attila — appears only on reel 5, summoning 2 to 15 Hun Wilds and triggering respins under the same rules as Aetius.
Bonus game
There’s no classic scatter-triggered bonus in Attila The Hun; everything revolves around respins and their variations.
- Walking Wild Respins — triggered by any Roman or Hun Warrior Wild. Romans march to the right, Huns to the left, and the respins keep running until all walking wilds leave the grid.
- Small Battle Free Spins — if a wild from the opposite army lands during respins, a 2x2 wild block appears. It moves randomly in one of four directions — up, down, left, or right — after each spin. The round ends once part of the 2x2 block moves outside the grid, after which the remaining wilds continue their normal respin march.
- Big Battle Free Spins — triggered when a general appears on each side during respins. The player gets at least five free spins, where full wild reels emerge in phases:
- Spin 1: reels 1 and 5 turn wild.
- Spin 2: reels 2 and 4 turn wild.
- Spin 3+: reels 2, 3, and 4 stay wild together.
From this point, the two armies “fight”: each side starts with two hit points. When a win involves Romans, their wild stack shifts one reel right; when Huns win, it shifts left. The battle continues until one army runs out of hit points, and any remaining wilds from the trigger spin finish in standard Walking Wild Respins.
RTP, Volatility and Maximum Win
The RTP of Attila The Hun sits at 96.38%, which places it in the fair, mid-to-high range for Relax Gaming’s catalogue. Volatility is officially rated as Medium-High, meaning the slot can feel calm for several spins before suddenly unleashing a strong payout through a chain of Walking Wild Respins or a drawn-out battle mode.
The theoretical maximum win is around x300 from a single spin — modest compared to modern volatile slots, but reasonable given that most wins come from extended respin sequences rather than isolated jackpots.
Our verdict
Attila The Hun feels less like a standard slot and more like a slow-moving skirmish. The Walking Wild Respins keep tension high, especially when opposing wilds meet and turn the grid into a 2x2 brawl. It’s not a slot that showers wins — it builds them through movement and attrition.
We liked how Relax Gaming tied every feature to the war theme: nothing here feels random or cosmetic. The sound design genuinely adds pressure, and when the Big Battle kicks off, it feels earned rather than gifted. That said, the cap at x300 will frustrate anyone chasing massive multipliers.
If you fancy something mythological with a tougher edge, try Minotauros. Or, if you want to swap the war drums for a pint and a laugh, Lucky Barrel Tavern is the better place to unwind after battle.
