Spain vs Serbia: betting odds 15 Oct 2024
Betting tips 15 Oct 2024
As the reigning European champions, Spain have been progressing fairly smoothly through the Nations League, with Serbia being the only country side to have taken points from them (0:0). In this return leg, the underdogs may once again have opportunities to earn points, as Spain face challenges with their squad—most notably, the loss of Lamine Yamal due to injury.
Over the weekend, Spain played a solid match against Denmark (1:0), controlling the game for all 90 minutes. Martín Zubimendi has effectively filled in for Rodri Hernández as the starting defensive midfielder, with the Real Sociedad player netting the only goal. The Spanish side allowed a mere 0.10 xGA with just one shot on target, and against the Serbians on Tuesday, they are expected to maintain over 60% possession.
On Saturday, Serbia capitalised on Switzerland's struggles, beating them in Leskovac (2:0). Interestingly, they managed only 0.66 xG from their seven shots while enjoying just 33% of the ball. Against the group favourites, Serbia will again employ a back three, supported by wing-backs Kosta Nedeljković and Veljko Birmančević.
In Spain's attacking trio, only Lamine Yamal had an undroppable status, and without the Barcelona winger, Luis de la Fuente lost nearly half of their forward potential. Although the hosts will dominate possession in Cordoba, a draw would suffice for Serbia, so they are expected to play very defensively.
