Adam Williams presents his prediction for the EuroLeague match.
Both clubs are teetering on the edge of the play-in: Efes are currently inside, while Baskonia is just outside. Only a victory can prevent either side from slipping further. The club from Vitoria will have the home-court advantage, but in this matchup, that hasn't been a decisive factor. In their last four encounters, only once have the hosts won—Baskonia in overtime (114:111) two seasons ago.
Baskonia
Baskonia have lost three of their four games in November, all of which were away. Particularly notable was the thrashing by Barcelona in the EuroLeague (68:91). They nearly halved their opponents' success rate from three-point range, shooting 29.6% to Barcelona's 52.2%, and committed a staggering 17 turnovers while managing only 15 assists.
Anadolu Efes
Anadolu Efes shoot more accurately from beyond the arc (35.3% to 31%) and significantly outperforms their opponents on two-point efficiency (61.8% to 49.5%). The Turks lead the EuroLeague in this regard. It's no surprise they outscore the hosts by nearly ten points per game (84.4 to 75.6) and sit fourth in overall scoring. While they lack a standout sharpshooter, Elijah Bryant is their top scorer with 12 points, and four of his teammates have also surpassed the 10-point mark.
Baskonia vs Anadolu Efes Prediction
The Turks understand the Basque side's strength in the paint and will work to minimise rebounds, relying on their big men, primarily Vincent Poirier. This should give them an edge that leads to a victory. Another win for the visitors in this matchup.
