Adam Williams presents his prediction for the NHL match.
The Florida Panthers have been on the road lately, but facing hosts like the Edmonton Oilers right now is no easy task. The Panthers will need to pull out all the stops to avoid a defeat. Especially since the Oilers are still smarting from the Florida Panthers derailing their comeback in the Stanley Cup Final. This, without a doubt, is the match of the day.
Edmonton Oilers
The finalists are on a rampage, toppling every opponent in their path, even as visitors, including the undeniable favourites. They defeated the Minnesota Wild in St. Paul (7:1), followed by a decisive win over Pacific Division leaders, the Vegas Golden Knights (6:3). Impressively, the Oilers led 5:0 with five minutes remaining in the second period. Their winning streak now stands at five matches, encompassing both away and home games.
Florida Panthers
Things were sailing smoothly for the Florida Panthers, with six victories and just one loss, until something cracked in their last two outings. The Panthers failed to score against the Vancouver Canucks (0:4) and Calgary Flames (0:3). Both goalkeepers let them down, particularly Sergei Bobrovsky in the clash with the Canucks (78.9%). Although Spencer Knight put up a better fight (88.9%), the attack was ineffective. Even in their last win against the Seattle Kraken, the Panthers could only manage one goal in regulation time.
Edmonton Oilers vs Florida Panthers Prediction
With Leon Draisaitl (22+23) and Connor McDavid (14+27) in imperious form, capable of breaking down any defence, Sergei Bobrovsky might have been their answer, but his recent performances have been lacking. Unless one of the visiting goalkeepers finds their form again, the Florida Panthers are set for a loss.
