Adam Williams presents his prediction for the Xi'an Grand Prix snooker match
Pang Junxu
Pang Junxu has been playing very well this season. A small warm-up at the Championship League, great performance at the Shanghai Masters, where Pang beat Gary Wilson 6:5 and Mark Allen 6:5, but lost to Mark Selby 3:6, although Pand Junxu was leading 3:1. Then he confidently beat Michael Holt 5:2 and Bulcsú Révész 5:2 in the qualifiers for the tournaments in Xi'an and Wuhan. And in the first match in the current tournament, he smashed Paul Deville 5:0.
Mark Selby
Mark Selby didn't lose a frame in the match with Aaron Hill in the first round, although before that things were tough. In the qualifiers Selby beat Wang Xinbo only 5:3, and before that he lost to Long Zehuang 4:5. In the Shanghai Masters Selby lost 8-10 to Shaun Murphy in the semi-finals, so Selby has a hard time winning even qualifying matches.
Pang Junxu - Mark Selby Prediction
I think both players will take their chances responsibly. The next opponent will be either Daniel Wells or Thepchaiya Un Nooh, it is a good draw and a good chance to go far in this tournament. So I expect a tight match that could end in eight or even nine frames.
