Last Thursday, Lincoln Red Imps lost to Dinamo Minsk (2:0). It is their fourth straight failure in regular time in European cups. It seems the team won’t be able to make a comeback at home, the Belarusian felt the opponent’s weakness, so they will keep pressing on it.
After beating Hamrun Spartans (1:0) in the Champions League first qualifying round, Lincoln Red Imps hasn’t been scoring for 380 minutes. Of course, they had one shot on target in each half against Minsk, but the Belarusians’ attacking advantage was key to their easy win (7-2 shots on target). The Gibraltar players were nervous after the first missing goal. The coach substituted Graeme Torrilla, who had a yellow card and could have gotten a red.
Dinamo Minsk got a well-deserved rest in their local league, everybody is waiting for them to get back to the group stage of European cups. This win over Lincoln is their third shutout victory in qualifying. The success of new foreign players is especially nice for Dinamo, Pedro Igor scored a goal 13 minutes after coming off the bench.
Likely, neither team will change their lineup because their best players played in the first leg. In Gibraltar, the physically fit Minsk team will again be more active in attack, They will move on to the final stage of Europa League qualifying.
