PSG
The group stage wasn’t an easy walk for PSG. They hardly managed to advance to the play-offs. They were saved by the late goal scored from the penalty spot in the game versus Newcastle United (1:1) and a draw (1:1) in the game against Borussia Dortmund in the last round. PSG were tied with Milan on head-to-head points, the French side advanced to the play-offs only thanks to a better goal difference.
PSG are the leaders in the French Ligue1, but it doesn’t actually matter as their domestic championship can’t be compared to the Champions League. However, the French side hasn’t lost their last 16 games in all tournaments (12 wins, 4 draws).
Real Sociedad
The Spanish side topped their group, tied on head-to-head points with Inter Milan but having a better goal difference. Their rivalry in the group stage wasn’t that difficult as Benfica actually failed to be a strong opponent. Their style was pretty careful. Real Sociedad scored 7 goals and conceded only 2. However, this was true for all teams in this group.
The side is currently 6th in the domestic league. They rarely lose but they also have obvious problems with winning the games. They have won only 4 games out of the last 11 (1 defeat, 6 draws), with 4 games ending in goalless draws, which means that scoring is their weak point, too.
PSG — Real Sociedad head-to-head
This is going to be the first official game between these teams. It’s no surprise as Real Sociedad previously played in the Champions League only on two occasions.

The French side is far from being perfect in the current European season. However, there’s no denying that Real Soiedad isn’t an opponent that can be a real problem for PSG. The Spanish side hardly manages to win in their domestic league. Playing at Parc des Princes is a tough thing for every team.
I believe that, despite having obvious problems, PSG is still capable of achieving the result they need in this game. I don’t think that this side will reach the late stages of this Champions League, but they definitely should advance to the next round.
